Eco-Friendly Products We Stock
Diamine -- Their 80ml bottles are made from glass and produced in the UK, giving them a lower carbon footprint than many alternatives.
Noodler's Ahab, Nib Creaper, and Dixie fountain pens are made without plastic and are ultimately biodegradable. They do not take single-use ink cartridges.
Leather-free pen cases -- made from materials that contain no animal products.
Rhodia notebooks are made from renewably sourced paper, ethically produced to minimise environmental impact.

Choosing bottled ink over single-use cartridges is one of the simplest ways to reduce plastic waste -- and it opens up a far wider range of colours. What We Do at Pure Pens
We are proud to be based in Newport, South Wales -- one of the UK's leading recycling cities, recycling nearly 70% of its waste compared to a national average of 41%. Wales itself ranks third globally for recycling rates, something we are genuinely proud of.
Within our own operation, we separate all waste and recycling in line with Welsh government guidelines. We reuse cardboard from incoming deliveries as insulation for fragile items such as glass ink bottles, and reuse any bubble wrap or paper packaging when fulfilling orders. All outgoing orders are packed using fully carbon-neutral aroFOL packaging. We ask customers to reuse or recycle any packaging we send where possible.

What You Can Do
The single most impactful change a fountain pen user can make is switching from single-use cartridges to bottled ink. It reduces plastic waste, saves money over time, and opens up a world of colour that cartridges simply cannot match.
Used ink bottles also have a second life -- as storage pots for small craft supplies, as flower pots, or as vessels for mixing your own custom ink colours. And of course, reusing or recycling any packaging from your orders makes a real difference too.
